Plans
This page contains some common questions and answers about using Plans and their creation.
/coverage_periods/{id}/plans
Q. How many Plans should I create for a given option in my system?
A. We would expect 1 plan per electable option in your system.
For example, if there are two Flat Amount Critical Illness Plans, we would expect 2 plans created with different descriptions, but the same product line of critical_illness
.
We would ask that you consolidate plan options that are split on Coverage Level / Covered Member Type to allow for smooth configuration. Splitting plans on Age, Rate bands, etc, can add an extra element of configuration and should be discussed during Implementation with the Ideon team.
Q. How should I manage Bundled Plan Options?
A. We recommend picking either of the two implementations and remaining consistent after Implementation:
Create a
life
and anaccidental_death_dismemberment
Option with related Description valuesEvery Member electing that Life option would also require an election for AD&D
For Voluntary products and
volume
- the elected amount ought to be the same for both products, if the election is bundled
Create a
life_accidental_death_dismemberment
Option with indicative DescriptionIdeon then unbundles and, if needed, assigns identifiers to both plan options that are sent under this bundled plan.
For Non-Life bundles, contact Ideon Operations. We likely have an option to enable a coverage to be bundled, such as Medical and Vision.
